National Trust Dog Walking Guidelines

National Trusts General Dog Walking Guidelines

  • Keep your dog in sight and under control - use a lead if requested.
  • Don't let your dog chase wildlife or farm animals.
  • Watch out for local notices. There may be restrictions in woodland or farmland at sensitive times of year, during the lambing season, or between March and the end of July when ground-nesting birds are on eggs or raising their young.
  • Please always pick up after your dog. At many of our sites we've dedicated dog bins for you to use.

Charlecote Park Specific Guidelines

  • We welcome well behaved dogs on short leads. We ask that you keep four-legged friends on leads at all times to help look after our herds of Jacob Sheep and Fallow Deer.
  • There are dog poo bins provided - please do pick up after your dogs - again this will help us to look after our herds.
  • Short leads and poo bags are available at Visitor Reception if you've left home without essentials.
  • Please keep to the designated dog walking routes around the parkland, again to help keep our herds stress free and to help us with the conservation of the parkland wildlife.
  • Dog hitch points and water bowls are provided around the property.
  • Only assistance dogs are allowed inside the buildings.
  • Dogs are welcome in the Wood Yard area with hitch points on many of the benches so you can enjoy a meal together! (Please note that only assistance dogs are allowed inside the cafĂ© itself.
